Sturgess, Chris (AFM Chairman)

Chris joined the South African Agricultural Derivatives Market known as SAFEX while it was still in its infancy stage back in 1997. Since then he has been part of a small dedicated team that has focused on the growth and development of the agricultural derivatives market. This has provided an opportunity to specialize in all spheres of the exchange business, from trading through to clearing including the challenges of physical delivery and the necessary environment to facilitate this. The business was bought by the Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE) in 2001. In 2012 he took over as head of the commodities market at the JSE. In 2014 he also assumed responsibility for managing a team looking after all key clients within the business. tal Amsterdam and President of the Association of Futures Markets.

 

Kenny, Pat

Patrick J. Kenny is Senior Vice President of client relations for CQG. His responsibilities include business development and working with account management. He joined the firm in July 2010. Previously, Kenny had been with Patsystems, North America as an Officer and Managing Director for 10 years. Patrick has worked in the financial trading sector for more than 33 years. Before joining Patsystems, I held senior positions in institutional sales with Prudential Securities and ABN Amro. Patrick also worked in institutional sales at Geldermann and Harris Bank. Patrick Kenny has been a member of the Chicago Board of Trade since 1983 and currently a member of the CME Group. Patrick is also a Board member of the FIA IT Division. Patrick joined the board of advisors of OptionsCity on Feb. 22, 2010.


 

Widjaja, Megain

Megain Widjaja is CEO of the Indonesia Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (ICDX) and was one of the key members of the ICDX start-up committee. He is responsible for implementing the organization’s mission to become the benchmark index for Indonesia's prime commodities, as well as developing multiple growth strategies to expand ICDX core products and offerings including financial based contracts. He works closely with regulators to enhance the development of the derivatives industry in Indonesia, as well as develop relationships with other international exchanges and industry participants.

Kasza, Krisztina

Krisztina has been the Secretary of AFM since 2000. Prior to this she headed the Marketing Department of the Budapest Commodity Exchange.

Van Griethuysen, Alan

Van Griethuysen, Alan (former AFM President)  

Alan van Griethuysen (54) began his career at the European Options Exchange. When the EOE merged with the Amsterdam Stock Exchange Association in 1997 to create Amsterdam Exchanges, he was appointed Deputy Director of the derivatives market responsible for the floor to screen migration of the Amsterdam options and futures products from 1998 to December 2002. In 2000 he was promoted to the position of Director. Following the initial three-way merger of the local exchanges of Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris to form Euronext, he was promoted to Executive Director of derivative markets. The subsequent acquisition of LIFFE, saw him appointed Executive Director of Sales in 2003. With the creation of NYSE Euronext, Alan also assumed responsibility for strategic development of the Asian market. In April 2009 he was appointed Regional Business Head; as Executive Director he was also responsible for Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg), Germany, Scandinavia, Switzerland, Asia, and also for Business Intelligence and the Dutch & Belgium Retail Services. End 2012 he left NYSE Euronext and is now owner of GrinneR Management and Consultancy. At the moment he is interim manager at NPEX (a new exchange in the Netherlands focussing at financing SME's) and Business Developer at TOM (the order machine, a new options exchange in the Netherlands) where he was responsible for creating a new Dutch Index. The NL20 Index. Furthermore he is Board Member of the Association of Capital Amsterdam and after being President of the association for several years now Member of the Supervisory Board of AFM.

Liu, Len-Yu

Dr. Liu assumed Chairmanship of Taiwan Futures Exchange (TAIFEX) in September 2014. Prior to joining TAIFEX, he has been a board director of Taiwan Stock Exchange (TWSE) since 2008 and Securities and Futures Investors Protection Center since 2006. He was also a member of Clearing, Trading and Disciplinary Committees of TAIFEX respectively from 2007 to 2013. His duties are to advise TAIFEX and assist with its policy making as well as compliance issues.

From 2001 to 2004, he was Commissioner of Taiwan Fair Trade Commission. His responsibilities are to review fair trade policies and regulations, investigations of business activities and cases in violation of the Fair Trade Act. In 2001, he served as member of Listing Review Committees of Taiwan Stock Exchange and Gre Tai Securities Market (the OTC Market in Taiwan).

From 1992 to 2014, he was a professor of law at National Chung Hsing University and National Chengchi University. His major areas include Corporate Law, Securities Exchange Law, Banking Law, Anti-Trust Law, and International Trade Law. He worked as an associate of TSAR & TSAI Law Firm from 1988 to 1989.  

Dr. Liu received Master of Laws (LL. M) from Harvard Law School and Doctor of the Science of Law (JSD) from Stanford Law School in the USA. He has published 14 books and more than 100 articles in different reputed domestic and international professional journals. 

 

Mátrai, Károly

After receiving his diploma in economics he spent a short time in administration before joining KELER as a risk analyst in 1995.

He became assistant risk manager, then in 1999 director of the risk management department. From 2003 he is also responsible for the developments in KELER; from 2007 he functions as a director of finance as well.

From 2009 KELER Ltd founded KELER CCP by organizing the clearing house functions into a separate artificial company.

He is the leading officer of the subsidiary company since the foundation, from 2011 as a CEO, from 2012 as a Member of the Board as well.

He has broker exam in stock-and commodity-market. For more than 5 years he is an active member and teacher of the Central European School of Broker’s Foundation.
