Brief history
BNA was founded in 1979 with the purpose of establishing a spot and forward market for agricultural and livestock goods, and other type of commodities.
Along the past 30 years, BNA has opened the business offer to include several financial instruments in order to act as both a commodities market as well as a capital market.
Today, BNA is a privately owned publicly traded corporation, with a minor participation of the Colombian government in its capital, subject to state supervision through the Colombian Financial Superintendency.
Though present in 6 different cities, the main office is located at Bogota and has 30 well established members.
During 2009, BNA has acted towards establishing a futures derivatives market, mainly for the energy and agricultural sectors.

BNA is a publicly traded corporation composed whose shares are traded in the Colombian Stock Exchange.
