Futures grain market
Sofia Commodity Exchange (SCE) in Bulgaria offers the opportunity to trade with grain futures. Seven approved standard contracts are traded every Wednesday and Thursday from 2.00 PM , and every Friday from 10.00 AM.
MILLING WHEAT FEED WHEAT FORAGE BARLEY MALTING BARLEY CORN BLACK SUNFLOWER WHITE BEANS
The standard contract is for 15 t. Grain contracts are traded for immediate delivery or future delivery for up to 17 months ahead. The trading horizon is 18 months.
The open positions of both parties secure their obligations with 3 % margin as compared to the market quotation of the Contract, the margin been deposited in the clearing house of SCE.
Spot market
Sessions are divided in two major segments - trade pits in foodstuffs and non-foodstuffs. The trade is with distinctly specified and uniquely qualified available commodities
The commodities are presented using preliminary standard offers. Clients can participate only through via freely chosen and authorized intermediaries - brokers.

New legislation on Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets:
The members of the Commodity Exchange must have registration by the Bulgarian Trade Act.
The maximum limit for shareholders is 5% from the commodity capital. Exceptions are made only with special license, issued by the Commodity Exchanges and Wholesale Markets State Commission.
