ROFEX continues with the trading of futures on the shares index.

ROFEX launches its new future contract on the equity index, thus offering the investing public an outperforming tool as regards the currently traded futures. It may be traded as of this Monday 16th April through the ROFEX trading platform by including, like the rest of the products, the operations via the DMA (Direct Market Access), the possibility of algorithmic trading and options contracts.

With this new futures contract, ROFEX aims at generating additional business opportunities for all the players, not only individuals but also investment funds and other institutional participants who attempt to position themselves at the rise or at the fall of a significant equities index or to manage the risk of a share portfolio. The operations of the Merval Index futures have grown geometrically during the last year. The features of this new tool are expected to boost the volumes and to increase the operations growth speed.

The reference of the mentioned futures contract shall be the ROFEX 20 Index. It is a total return share index designed to measure the performance of a portfolio made up of the 20 most liquid papers in the local share market, weighted by their market capitalization adjusted by the floating capital. The index was designed by collecting the best practices for the elaboration of stock indexes worldwide and it shall have an advisory technical committee made up of four acknowledged specialists in the field plus a ROFEX technical representative: the capitals market consultants and analysts Leonardo Chialva and Gustavo Neffa; the scholars Gabriel Basaluzzo and Marcelo Perillo, with the coordination of Marcelo Comisso, Markets R+D Manager in ROFEX.

The development of this new tool shall undoubtedly contribute to the growth of the Argentinian capitals market due to the complementarity with the spot market.
